This photo is interesting in the fact that it shows both old and new
roadbeds. I've been advised that the red building at the end of the road
is the Alford DL&W station, built three years prior to the relocation.
The relocation plans were to leave the Alford section in the same location.
Relocation plans changed and the roadbed was moved to the opposite side
of the valley at a higher level as shown in the photo. This obsoleted the
station and a new station was constructed on the high line.
